St. John’s School requires an enthusiastic and suitably experienced full time Year 4 Teacher,
to join our School family. Salary range: £28-32.5k, depending on experience.
We are an independent day and boarding school for boys and girls, aged 2½ – 16 years,
located on a hill, overlooking the sea, in the beautiful Regency town of Sidmouth. We are a
relatively small school that caters for around 160 local day students, usually combined with
around 50 international boarders, from more than 10 countries around the globe.
IES’s mission is to provide excellence in education within an international perspective. The
International Education Systems group (IES) promotes the development of young people who
will have the capacity to contribute proactively to the on-going work towards a better world.
Academic expectations in the school are high, but we also believe that our students’ ability
to communicate successfully, to consider the needs of others and to show drive, empathy,
leadership and initiative are all attributes that will help them achieve success as well as
make a significant contribution to society in later life.
Our school land extends over many hectares and has its own stream, woodland and mature
hedgerows and horticultural area, along with sports pitches, sports hall, a forest school,
indoor / outdoor pool and tennis courts. All these facilities lend themselves to outdoor
education, creative writing and units of enquiry, in a stimulating, yet calm, learning
environment.
