The King’s School, Canterbury is seeking to appoint an experienced and proactive Transport Manager to provide maternity cover within our Premises Department.
This is a varied and strategic role responsible for the management of the School’s vehicle fleet, transport staff and drivers, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of transport services across the School. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day operations, fleet maintenance, vehicle replacement planning, budget management, driver training and regulatory compliance, whilst identifying opportunities to improve services and maximise efficiency.
In addition to transport responsibilities, the role will support the Premises Director with aspects of the School’s residential property portfolio, including liaison with letting agents, tenants and professional advisers.
The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and have substantial experience in transport operations management, including budgetary control, fleet management and strategic planning. Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills are essential, together with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience within an educational environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
