We are a co-educational, non-selective state boarding school, for boys and girls aged 7 – 18. This is a boarding school with Flexi Boarding students attending from the local area and a lively community of around 300 Full Boarders, passionately involved in a wide range of after-school and weekend activities and trips.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive School Services Officer with a focus on Academic Specialism to serve as a vital operational link between the Deputy Head (Academic), Directors of Learning, and the wider faculty.

Details of department

The central Admin Hub serves as the operational heart of The Royal Alexandra and Albert School, tasked with driving administrative excellence and ensuring seamless service delivery throughout the institution. The department is responsible for coordinating activities between the day school and boarding provisions. Under the oversight of the Office Manager, the team – which includes School Services Officers, Student Services, the Attendance Officer, and the Receptionist – collaborates to maintain efficient, well-coordinated operations.

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and executive support by coordinating academic reports, teacher meetings, and student progression pathways while overseeing critical data integrity and exam logistics, including secure paper handling and staff grade entry compliance. Beyond these specialist duties, the successful applicant will be a versatile team player, assisting with staff recruitment, managing school events, and participating in shared rotas for reception and student welfare. Proficiency in school management systems is essential, as is the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
