Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a Residential House Assistant to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester. Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.
The job
We are looking for a new House Assistant to join the boarding section of the pastoral team to assist with the day-to-day care and boarding routines of the students. The role will involve working with our senior students aged 14-18.
You will work 35 hours per week minimum, working day or evening shifts, including some work at the weekend.
The role is term-time only, plus one additional week for the Summer School, making a total of 37 working weeks per year.
The role is a residential role, and accommodation is available all year round.
The role will commence 1st January 2027, subject to clearance checks.
In return
The salary for this role is £19,209.20 (£26,966.72 FTE), starting at SCP 14 within the Scale Point 14–16 range.
Additional hours worked above 35 hours per week will be paid at £14.83 per hour.
In instances where the Duty Phone is assigned overnight, there is a £25 overnight fee that can be claimed
