Queen’s College, Taunton, a leading independent school with a thriving boarding community, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Houseparent to join our girls Senior Boarding House team (years 8-13). This is a residential role; the successful candidate will live and work at the heart of our vibrant school community. This position is open to non-teaching and teaching applicants. For non-teaching we expect staff to offer a pupil-facing role within the wider school community.
The Houseparent plays a pivotal role in the welfare, development, and day-to-day life of our boarders. You will create a safe, supportive, and welcoming home-from-home environment where pupils feel valued, respected, and encouraged to flourish.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with young people in a pastoral, educational, or residential setting.Demonstrate warmth, empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
- Be highly organised, with the ability to manage the demands of a busy boarding house.
- Show commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.
