For September 2024, Forres Sandle Manor seeks to appoint an individual who will take overall responsibility for the delivery of Dance across the school. Ultimately, through the passion, enthusiasm and leadership of the postholder, we are seeking for Dance to become a recognised and celebrated subject across the school. Specifically, this means:

– Specialist Dance lessons (as a discreet curriculum subject) up until Year 6 and then again as an optional subject from Year 9 through to GCSE.

– From September 2024, offering Dance as a new Scholarship (for both Year 7 and Year 9) and ensuring an outstanding ‘Dance Scholarship Pathway’ is created, including access to expert specialist coaching (using external providers where required), links with local dance groups etc.

– A thriving co-curricular provision for Dance, with both informal and formal opportunities for pupils to showcase their progress and talents to their peers and parents.

In addition to leading our Dance provision, the postholder will be required to support our Director of Sport in the delivery of PE, although this will form the minority of the teaching allocation.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join our small, friendly and caring community of staff and students and enjoy teaching small classes (currently averaging 13) of polite, respectful and hardworking students as well as benefiting from terms and conditions which include a maximum of 83% directed teaching time and over 16 weeks holiday per year.

A willingness to contribute to the wide co-curricular and community activity of a lively day and boarding school situated in this beautiful part of the UK is essential.

We do not require the postholder to participate in boarding duties, however there is the possibility of providing accommodation for those whose circumstances would suit living on-site in return for some boarding duties.
