At Bilton Grange we seek to embed in our pupils’ habits of learning which will make them successful, adaptable and intellectually robust. The teaching of Computing plays a vital role in this ambition as we equip our pupils to be competent and responsible users of digital technologies. In an ever-changing digital society, it is also important for teachers and pupils to remain at the forefront of digital learning educational practice. Computing is a much-enjoyed subject within the School and is well resourced. We now seek an enthusiastic and talented individual to join our happy team, lead the teaching of Computing and the strategy of Digital Learning throughout the School.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate, dynamic and inspirational teacher who is willing to be broad-minded and innovative with the curriculum while also steadfast in maintaining high standards. This post offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious teacher to further his/her career and develop in a forward-thinking environment.

The role would begin in September 2024.

Bilton Grange is a happy, flourishing and successful Prep School set in 90 acres of beautiful grounds just south of Rugby. In 2020 it merged with Rugby School and is now part of the Rugby Schools Group. Pupil numbers have never been higher. In September 2024 there will be over 385 boys and girls, boarding and day, in the school aged between 3 and 13 and the school’s distinguished history is continuing to evolve. In August 2022 we opened Little Grange Nursery, placing a further 80 children under our watchful care and guidance. The current Head has been in post since September 2021 and in March 2022 we were successful in our ISI Compliance Inspection.

Whilst previous experience of boarding schools is not a pre-requisite, applicants should be aware of the busy term-time existence that working here involves and be open-minded as to how such a learning community is at its most effective by everyone contributing wholeheartedly to supervision, activities outside the classroom and school trips. The school is committed to providing a first-class working environment for its staff; it has a thorough Professional Development Review system in place as well as a Teaching & Learning Development Team which meets regularly to discuss initiatives around teaching pedagogy. The School benefits from outstanding operational and administrative support, has a very collegiate common room and a healthy collaboration with colleagues at Rugby School.
