Reports To: Head of Security or designated supervisor

Job Summary: As a College Security Guard at David Game College, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing the main entrance, implementing security procedures, and assisting in various emergency scenarios. The ideal candidate will have basic security experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a secure and welcoming environment. The safeguarding and wellbeing of all our students and staff is the College’s number one priority.

Key Responsibilities:

Main Entrance Oversight:

Monitor the main entrance and ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises.

Greet students, staff, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

Student and Staff Safety:

Patrol designated areas to maintain a visible security presence.

Respond promptly to any security concerns, disturbances, or emergencies.

Visitor Management:

Follow established procedures for signing in all visitors to the College.

Verify the identity of individuals entering the premises and issue visitor badges as needed.

Assist in maintaining accurate visitor logs.

Mail and Package Handling:

Receive and process incoming mail and packages.

Implement security measures when handling deliveries.

Contractor Interaction:

Sign in site contractors and verify their credentials.

Monitor and ensure contractors comply with College policies and safety regulations.

Emergency Response:

Assist during fire alarm tests and actual emergencies by guiding evacuations and ensuring orderly conduct.

Collaborate with emergency services and College staff as needed.

Opening and Closing Procedures:

Open the College at the beginning of the day and ensure a smooth start.

Occasionally assist with securing the premises at the end of the day.

Reporting and Documentation:

Report any security incidents or concerns promptly to the Head of Security or designated authority.

Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a security-related role is preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to remain calm and composed during emergencies.

Basic knowledge of security protocols and procedures.

Working Hours: This is a full-time position, and working hours may include evenings, weekends, and occasional overtime as needed.
