Assistant Head of Boarding
Term time only / Permanent / Residential
Salary: £21,300 pa (based on an FTE of 0.83 and a full-time equivalent salary £25,663 pa). Accommodation included.
Hours: 42.5 hours per week during term time
(30 hours as a Resident Tutor and 12.5 hours as an Assistant House Parent)
Accommodation: Three-bedroom house with a garden (suitable for small families)
Tenure: This role is offered on a 10-year tenure basis.

Truro School is offering an exceptional opportunity for an Assistant Head of Boarding to join our warm, caring and inclusive boarding community.
We are seeking a friendly, energetic, resilient and approachable leader to work closely with the Head of Boarding in providing strategic oversight, pastoral leadership and day-to-day operational support across our boarding houses. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and inclusive practice, and will bring the skills, insight and experience to help shape a positive, forward-looking boarding culture. Working with the Head of Boarding, Deputy Head (Pastoral), Senior Leadership Team, Houseparents and boarding staff, they will help ensure consistency of practice, shared standards and a strong sense of one boarding community.
The role involves oversight of pastoral care, wellbeing, PSHE provision, safeguarding, compliance, medical care, staff development and boarding operations, as well as supporting the promotion, recruitment and retention of boarders. These responsibilities are carried out in close partnership with, and in support of, the Head of Boarding.
Accommodation is provided, as this is a residential position. The postholder will be provided with a three bedroom house with a garden which is situated within girls boarding and will be a key visible presence within the boarding community.
