Assistant Fencing Coach

The King’s School, Canterbury is seeking a British Fencing registered Epee Coach (Level 1 or above) to join the coaching team from September 2024.

A standard coaching rate of up to £25/hour is offered, depending on experience, on a variable hours contract. There is an estimated total of 30 hrs per week for 34 weeks per year available. We are looking for either one or multiple candidates to fulfil the total hours required.

Provisional timings are as follows:

Junior School individual lessons take place Monday to Friday 12.30-1.45pm.

Senior School sessions run Monday to Friday 2.30-6.00pm and Saturdays 1.30-5.30pm.

There are also additional hours available for evening sessions, holiday courses, armoury work, and supporting the pupils at internal and external events at weekends (incl. overnight stays).

Reporting to the Head of Fencing, the successful applicant(s) will be fully engaged in developing the King’s School fencers, with an emphasis on providing an interesting and comprehensive introduction to the sport. Candidates will have experience of competing in and/or coaching youth Epee fencing. They will be an excellent communicator, be organised and punctual, and enjoy working as part of a small team.
