Course outline

This interactive webinar, How to Support Boys to Thrive, is designed to help school staff explore healthy models of masculinity and promote emotional literacy among boys. The session will unpack common barriers that boys face in expressing emotions and challenge stereotypes that can restrict their wellbeing and development. Through a mix of practical strategies, reflective discussion, and case examples, delegates will learn how to create supportive environments where boys feel safe to express themselves, build resilience, and thrive both academically and socially.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify how societal and cultural expectations of masculinity can influence boys’ behaviour, relationships, and learning.
  • Develop strategies to encourage emotional expression and literacy in boys, fostering positive communication and resilience.
  • Apply practical approaches within school settings to support boys in building healthy self-identities and thriving both inside and outside the classroom.
