Course outline:

Boarders often juggle demanding school schedules with busy sporting commitments. This webinar, led by a registered dietitian, will equip school staff with the knowledge to support healthy eating habits that optimise both performance and wellbeing. The session will provide practical, evidence-based strategies that can be applied in the boarding environment.

Training topics will include: 

  • Principles of adolescent sports nutrition
  • The role of meal timing in energy and recovery
  • Practical snack and hydration strategies for boarding settings
  • Common pitfalls (supplements, energy drinks, restrictive diets)
  • Recognising when professional referral is needed

Learning outcomes:

  • Recognise how food timing supports sports performance and recovery.

Speaker: 

Tess Warnes, Registered Dietitian, allmanhall

Tess oversees Dietetics at allmanhall, specialists in food procurement for education settings, particularly boarding schools. A registered Dietitian with the HCPC, she holds a BSc (Hons) in Nutrition and Dietetics and has nearly two decades of experience, including roles in major London teaching hospitals and leading a nutrition consultancy. With allmanhall for over eight years, Tess delivers bespoke training on nutrition, hydration, allergens, and healthy eating, while supporting schools with menu reviews and compliance. She is a member of the British Dietetic Association Sustainability Group, helping clients integrate sustainability into menus alongside meeting nutritional standards.


Jason Azevedo, Development Manager, allmanhall

Jason is a Development Manager at allmanhall, where he supports independent schools across the UK in maximising the value of their catering budgets, playing a key role in enhancing operational efficiency through allmanhall’s innovative procurement solutions.
