Course outline:

A culturally inclusive school environment strengthens community, promotes empathy, and enhances the experience of all students—particularly those from international backgrounds. While many schools include a range of cultural events in their calendar, it’s essential to continually review and adapt your celebrations and programme to reflect the evolving demographics of your student and staff population.

This webinar will guide you through the process of designing, embedding, and maintaining a meaningful global calendar, with practical ideas for recognising and celebrating key cultural events in inclusive and engaging ways. You’ll gain insights into why student voice matters, and how cultural recognition can empower your school community and support a genuine sense of belonging.

Training topics will include:

  • Global calendar planning: how to identify relevant events and build an inclusive, representative calendar
  • Celebrating cultural festivals: recognising and honouring festivals from diverse cultures and understanding their significance
  • Practical strategies for implementation: integrating celebrations into school life meaningfully and respectfully
  • Amplifying student voice: encouraging student-led ideas and representation in cultural initiatives.
