Managing medication is a crucial responsibility – especially when it involves supporting children and young people. This webinar is designed to help school and boarding staff develop a clear understanding of how to safely and legally manage medicines within an educational setting.
Participants will explore the key principles behind medicines management, including current legislation, best practices, different types of medication, emergency medication, and practical guidance. Louise Howel, Nurse Advisor, HIEDA
Louise is a paediatric nurse and worked as a Health Visitor for 10 years before moving to independent school nursing, working in boarding and day schools for 11 years, currently Health and wellbeing Nurse at Westonbirt School, Gloucestershire.
Louise has been working as a Nurse advisor for HIEDA since September 2023 involving giving advice, training and consultancy support. Alongside this, Louise is also a First aid and Mental Health first aid trainer.
