Course outline
We all know that many of the international pupils in our schools have more than one language and home culture. Some of our pupils have multiple identities which can be a positive additive experience but can lead to identity confusion and even functional illiteracy. This phenomenon is sometimes called being a Third Culture Kid.

Speaker: Gabriela Santacruz
Gabriela is an accredited member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists (UK). She is an expert in the mental health of Cross-Culture children, Transition and Adolescence, and has carried out post-graduate research on emotional loss in international transition. Having studied and worked in many international schools, she currently works as a child and adolescent psychotherapist at Mill Hill School and is a member of Families in Global Transition and Safe Passage Across Networks. A visiting lecturer at the renowned Tavistock Trust, Gabriela has been a speaker on the subject in international conferences.
Gabriela’s experience is both professional and personal, having grown up as a Third Culture Kid herself.
