Bosworth Independent School is a relatively small school of approximately 300 students. JOB OVERVIEW

House Parents at Bosworth School have a truly unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our young people and you will be a supervising adult presence in the Boarding House, committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of our boarding students and assisting them in their daily lives. The House Parent role is central to the positive social and personal development of our students. House Parents look after the wellbeing and welfare of our students once the school day is over. The role is busy and varied and will involve organising and running activities. You will be instrumental in helping students to forge valuable friendships by encouraging them to take part in activities.
You will be required to work on a two-week shift pattern. Weekday hours when on duty are evenings and mornings, and each two-week shift contains a weekend on duty. Employment will be on a full-time basis, term time plus 7 additional weeks. The 7 additional weeks will include 3 half terms, Easter break and the first and last week of the summer holidays. This will also include bank holidays. You are required to work flexibly in accordance with the shift rota, including being available to support students for arrivals and departures. Accommodation is provided as part of the role for the better performance of your duties.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
•Ability to work with, care for and supervise young people
•High levels of energy, an even temper and a sense of humour
•Confidence in spoken and written English
•Confidence to tackle students who are not adhering to the School rules
•Ability to relate to young people
•Ability and willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment and maintain cultural sensitivity for all
•Willingness to work unsociable hours
•Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
•Ability to work as a team member and lead by example
•Ability to be proactive, flexible and reliable
Desirable
•Experience of National Minimum Standards (NMS),Independent Schools’ Statutory Regulations and other relevant legislation
•Current First Aid Training certification
•Advanced Safeguarding Training (Level 3)
•Experience working in a boarding school or similar setting
