Fixed Term Contract – Full-Time, start August 2026

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Gap Assistant to join our school community for a fixed-term live-in placement at Prior Park College overlooking beautiful Bath. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with a strong interest in sport, education, and pastoral care to gain valuable experience in a dynamic boarding school environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the games programme within the Sports Department, alongside contributing to the pastoral life of the school through regular boarding duties and co-curricular involvement for the August 2026 to July 2027 academic year.

Key Responsibilities include:

Sport Department Support

  • Assist with the delivery of the school’s games programme across a range of sports
  • Support coaching sessions, practices, and fixtures (both home and away)
  • Help with the organisation and administration of training sessions, matches, and events
  • Contribute to the maintenance and preparation of sports facilities and equipment
  • Act as a positive role model for pupils, promoting engagement, teamwork, and sportsmanship

Boarding & Pastoral Responsibilities

  • Provide pastoral support to boarding pupils, contributing to their wellbeing and daily routine
  • UndertakeΒ two duties per week, including:
    • Morning duty (7:00am – 8:30am)
    • Evening duty (6:00pm – 11:00pm)
  • Participate in theΒ weekend duty rota (alternate weekends), supporting boarding life and activities
  • Help supervise prep, meals, and recreational time within the boarding house
  • Support the boarding team in maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing environment

Co-Curricular & Enrichment

  • Assist with the organisation and supervision of boarding activities, trips, and excursions
  • Contribute to the wider co-curricular life of the school, including clubs and enrichment opportunities
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff across the school community

Essential requirements:

  • A recent graduate with a strong interest in sport and working with young people
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and adaptable with a proactive approach
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to contribute fully to both the sporting and boarding aspects of school life
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience of coaching or playing sport to a good level
  • Previous experience working with children or young people (e.g. coaching, mentoring, camps)
  • Interest in teaching or pursuing a career in education
  • EAL / TEFL
