The Royal Alexandra & Albert School is a ‘Good’ school (Ofsted, April 2024), where our boarding provision was recently judged as ‘Outstanding’ (Ofsted, 2025). The Role:

Are you looking to build your accounting experience within a supportive and professional environment? This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Finance Assistant to develop a broad range of practical finance skills and gaining valuable hands-on exposure to sales ledger, cash book management, credit control and bank reconciliations.

This role would suit someone who is keen to develop their career in finance, whether you are starting out in accounting, looking to broaden your experience, or seeking a role where you can make a real contribution while continuing to learn and grow. You will play an important part in ensuring accurate financial processes, maintaining strong relationships with parents and colleagues, and supporting the smooth running of the Foundation’s finance operations.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable individual who is keen to contribute to our Foundation and develop their finance career within a busy and varied environment.

The successful candidate will be organised, accurate and able to quickly apply themselves to the role. You will have strong communication skills, a confident telephone manner and the ability to build positive working relationships with parents, colleagues and external contacts.

Previous experience within finance, administration or customer service would be advantageous, and experience within the education sector is desirable but not essential. Good Excel skills and a willingness to learn are essential.
