A unique opportunity as arisen for a dual role to work as Estates Technician, Grounds with an additional responsibility of Resident Site Security, Maintenance Technician.
The role and accommodation will be based at Prior Park College, overlooking beautiful Bath but also to cover the Paragon School, Bath a short walk/drive down Ralph Allen Drive.
The Resident Site Security, Maintenance Technician will report to the Estates Manager and is designed to ensure that, outside of daytime working hours, the post holder will act as the “responsible person” living on-site to secure the schools’ buildings and respond to a range of incidents and emergencies that require an immediate response.
This role is an additional responsibility to be carried out in conjunction with Estates Technician, Grounds position. Each role will be undertaken in accordance with its own contractual terms and working hours, although the post holder may be required to respond to some emergency callouts during the day, subject to operational requirements and demands of any other role held within the organisation.
It would be an advantage for the post holder to have some skill and experience of general maintenance work. Training will be provided for applicants willing to take on such responsibilities.
The site security is a school lock up role and an ‘emergency’ on call all-year-round role carried out between 17:00 and 08:30.
· For lockups, it is expected that the post holder will work predominantly on a Monday to Friday basis, the details of which can be agreed with the Estates Manager.
· For out of hours emergency cover, it is expected that the post holder will be on call every day.
Suitable on-site accommodation will be provided for the post-holder, as it is essential for the proper performance of the duties or their role. The accommodation will be free of rent.
The post holder will have full access to the Trust’s fleet of maintenance vehicles for use on site or as transport between Prior Park College and The Paragon School. A full, clean driving license is an essential requirement for the post.

The Estates Technician, Grounds will report to the Head of Grounds and Gardens, working 7 hours are between 07:00 and 17:00, to fit with the needs of the Estates department. This is a key role responsible for carrying out estate maintenance work and preparation of sports surfaces for both Prior Park College and the Paragon School.

The Estates Department maintains the buildings, grounds and gardens at both Prior Park College and the Paragon school reporting to the Estates Manager. The team consists of general builders, plumbers, carpenter, electrician and apprentice. This team maintains the schools’ general maintenance, ensuring compliance and carrying out small capital works. The grounds and gardens side consists of gardeners, grounds persons specialising in sports preparation and grounds presentation.
This is a role for one person and will commence as soon as all pre-employment checks are in place.
Free on site parking, and meals can be provided from out onsite restaurant. Access to use on-site gym and pool to fit the needs of the school.
