Chetham’s School of Music is seeking 2 new Residential House Assistants to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester.  Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English-speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.

The job

  • We are looking for 2 new House Assistants to join the boarding section of the pastoral team to assist with the day-to-day care and boarding routines of the students. The role could involve working with our senior students aged 14-18 or our junior students aged 8-13.
  • The working week will be around 35- 40 hours divided into day or evening shifts, including some work at the weekend.
  • The role is residential role, and accommodation is available all year round.
  • The role is expected to commence in full from September 2026, but with the option of an extra week’s work in early August, subject to required clearance checks.
