This session explores how teachers and boarding staff can create a supportive, exam-friendly environment during the Summer Term, helping students manage stress and perform at their best.

Training topics will include:

• Understanding the causes of exam stress
• Recognising the behaviours which can arise from exam stress
• Practical strategies for helping students navigate and reduce the impact of exam stress
• Improving the dialogue about exam stress
• Key messages for parents

Katherine Radice

Katharine Radice has 20+ years of experience in the classroom and is a go-to expert on how to support young people through school.  Her two most recent books – Exam Stress: A Practical and Positive Guide for Teachers and The Parent’s Guide to Exam Stress – have been highly praised across the secondary school sector, described as ‘A book to start as soon as your child starts secondary school and keep coming back to’ (Nicola Morgan, The Teenage Brain Woman and author of Blame My Brain), ‘A must for parents who want to understand more and help’ (Michael Senior, founder of NetSixthForm network for UK sixth form leaders) and a book which  ‘Speaks for the child with an adult’s insight and a teacher’s understanding’ (David Walker, Executive Director, BSA Group).
