Located in a beautiful mountain town in Costa Rica, New Summit Academy is an independent, year-round, supportive boarding school for adolescent males, offering an excellent environment for personal insight-building, university preparatory academics, cultural immersion, adventure and travel.
The school’s supportive study abroad terms integrate an innovative US-accredited academic program with social-emotional growth objectives and experiential education activities.
New Summit Academy works with up to 24 males (ages 14-18). Students are bright, creative, sensitive, passionate about an interest, open to other cultures and are committed to social-emotional growth. Students may struggle with anxiety or depression, executive functioning, attention, self-confidence, identity or difficult social or family dynamics.
Within our supportive learning community, they build positive coping skills for their anxiety, adopt healthier lifestyles for their mood, and develop strategies to support their learning and executive functioning needs.
Students enroll at New Summit Academy for a minimum of 6-months, after which some students transition back home to complete high school, others to more traditional boarding schools, and many to university. Since 2005, the school has been supporting each student in the best path for their future.
