Founded in 1896 by Dame Frances Dove, Headmistress and pioneer for girls’ education, Wycombe Abbey is one of the country’s most successful boarding schools.
The School is committed to full boarding for modern families. Girls who enter the school at 11+ have their own Junior Boarding House. From the age of 12 to 17, pupils live in mixed-age Senior Houses, and in the Upper Sixth girls move into Clarence House, a study-bedroom complex.
Set in magnificent grounds spanning more than 160 acres, there are modern, state-of-the-art facilities such as a Sports Centre with a 25-metre indoor heated swimming pool, a dance studio, fitness studio, and a Performing Arts Centre with a theatre and a recital hall.
Wycombe Abbey frequently tops the League Tables and sends around one third of its leavers to Oxbridge and top US universities. The 2014 ISI inspectors awarded the highest classification possible in every category, writing; ‘Wycombe Abbey is extremely successful in meeting its aims. The pupils’ achievements and learning are exceptional.’
