Do you have experience of working as a Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role? If so, we have an opportunity that could be of interest. We are looking for a caring, flexible, Matron to work within our Junior Boarding Houses with boys and girls aged 7 -13yrs.
You will be working 28 hours a week (Tuesday to Friday evenings and Saturday mornings) term time only. There will also be a need to work a few days before and after the start of each term.
As part of a larger team, you will play an important role in creating and providing a safe, stimulating environment for the children in our care. This could involve:-
Offering reassurance and guidance as needed
Liaising with parents and guardians – taking messages and organising calls home
Helping with bedtime routines
Supervising pupils whilst in their dormitories
Experience of working with children is essential, ideally within a pastoral, social care or teaching context. We would also expect you to have the ability to cope calmly and effectively with emergencies when they arise.
Meals are provided when on duty and whilst this is not a residential role, single accommodation can be provided if required.
Please note that due to nature of the boarding arrangements and living accommodation on site, we are only able to accept applications from females (in line with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equalities Act 2010).
An enhanced DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) disclosure will be required for this role.
