Millfield Lower Sixth ballet dancer succeeds in Royal Academy of Dance exam
27th June 2018

Lower Sixth pupil Alice Kramer has passed with merit the Advanced 1 Royal Academy of Dance exam, while also undertaking three A levels.

This exam, which is commonly taken by vocational dance students committed full time to dance, gives Alice the opportunity to gain internationally recognised qualifications to an advanced level in ballet. Alice is planning to audition next year for vocational dance degree colleges, such as the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

Alice took the exam at the Northern Ballet under the watchful eye of eminent teacher and Vocational Examiner of the RAD, June Christian.

Millfield’s Head of Classical Ballet, Juliet Peach, says, “To achieve this exam outside a vocational ballet school, especially in England where the standard is very high, is outstanding. Alice has shown great dedication, as she has had to acquire technical, musical and performance skills in ballet to an advanced level. I am exceptionally proud of Alice’s commitment, and her accomplishment is of great inspiration to our other dancers hoping to follow in her footsteps.”
