Talented Preparatory School netball stars represented the region at a high-profile tournament recently.
The U11 side travelled to Aberystwyth to compete in the Urdd National Finals on Sunday, May 7, where they flew the flag for Conwy after winning the regional heat earlier this year.
A strong start saw the young hopefuls win their opening two contests, thanks to some stellar play from the likes of Ella James, Phoebe Pritchett, Ariana Milligan, Eve Durrans and Ruby Merrick, which saw them advance to the quarter final stage.
Despite another stellar effort which saw Caitriona Searl, Melissa Vos, Lily Davies, Martha Hind and Eleanor Tunstall perform well, the Rydal Penrhos team fell agonisingly short of reaching the final four after a narrow loss to Tywyn from South Wales.
Head of Girls’ Games Jude Pyves commented that “all the girls gave their very best and represented the school in great fashion” and also offered a “huge well done” to all the team.
Prep School head Roger McDuff, added: “The girls did a fantastic job against some tough opposition, and they did not look out of place performing against some of the best young netball talent anywhere in the country.”
