Rugby stars set to embark on autumn tour to Greece
15th July 2016

Rugby stars at Rydal Penrhos will be taking part in a special tour during the autumn.

The group will depart for Portugal on Wednesday, October 19, and they will be competing against a number of sides throughout their visit, which will be run on the same dates as the school’s Netball tour to Greece.

Company MSG Tours have once again organised the tour, which will see them train in hot climates

Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “I’ve toured Portugal before and played Agronomia, Cascais and a Lisbon regional team and it was fantastic so I’m really looking forward to it.

“MSG Tours who we are going with have been excellent and we are really looking forward to going with them.

“Tours like this are a great way for our players to bond and get to know more about each other, while also experiencing different cultures and competing against different nations.”

There will be plenty of rugby talent at Rydal Penrhos next season, with a number of pupils’ part of the RGC Academy who have already begun training in earnest ahead of the new season.

Dan Owen, Nick Dundee, Euan Humphreys, Henry Davies and Head Boy Adam Sabri are no strangers to international competition, having played a significant role in the Gogs’ unbeaten run at the Conwy International Festival earlier this year.
