BSA ‘Heads’ for heights!
15th May 2015

Head teachers from over twenty leading independent and state boarding schools had their heads - literally - in the clouds last week when they completed a charity abseil for the SpringBoard Bursary Foundation.

Taking time out of the Boarding Schools’ Association annual conference in London, the heads abseiled down the side of the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel in London.

The abseil was organised to raise funds for SpringBoard – a foundation charity which transforms the lives of disadvantaged children through full bursaries at state and independent boarding schools .

Irfan Latif, head teacher at Sexey’s School said:

“SpringBoard opens up the opportunity of a boarding school education to children whose backgrounds or family circumstances mean it wouldn’t normally be an option.

“Through generous donations and fundraising, we hope that even more children can be ‘SpringBoarded’ into what could be a life-changing path.”

Nicky Botterill, headmistress at Bruton School added:

“If we were able to assist just one more young person on the path to better career and life choices, then abseiling down eight floors of a London hotel will have been well worth it!”
