Second place for Millfield Head Boy at Moving Image BFI Awards
27th February 2019

Millfield Head Boy Oska Zaky has achieved a second place award for his A level Media Studies music video at the Moving Image Awards, hosted at the British Film Institute in London.

Upper Sixth pupil Oska’s music video for Jon Bellion’s song ‘80’s Films’ was submitted alongside hundreds of other films and was shortlisted for the Best Music Video category in December 2018.

The WJEC Moving Image Awards, which are designed in partnership with the British Film Institute, recognise and reward the UK's most talented young film-makers. Oska hopes to pursue a career in professional music and plans to use his videography skills to present his original songs.

Millfield Teacher in Charge of Media Studies, Aimee Coelho, says, “The Media Department at Millfield has a proud history of supporting pupils to pursue their creative talents on both a practical and academic level. With the media industry being the second fastest growing industry in the UK, we are keen to help our pupils to reach their pathway to success. This is the second time a media pupil has reached a national final in the past year and we are really proud of Oska’s achievements.”
