  • 06.00am – 14.30pm/06.30am – 15.00pm

Role:

We are searching for a Catering Stores person to contribute to maintaining the high standards of food service throughout the estate.

This job description is written at a specific time and is subject to change as the demands of the Collegiate and the role develops. The role requires flexibility and adaptability and the employees of the Collegiate need to be aware that they may be asked to perform tasks and be given responsibilities not detailed in this job description.

 

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Receive and check all incoming goods and deliveries into the Catering Department, food and non-food items
  • Ensure all goods are checked for quality, quantity, temperature, and dates. All best before and use by dates must be valid, any discrepancies should be reported to the Head Chef
  • Make Chefs, or Supervisors aware of any goods that are running low or those that are being held in a high volume
  • Report any missing invoices or delivery notes
  • Remove all waste oil to the appropriate storage area for recycling
  • Be involved in the full clean down of the kitchen and Catering Department when required
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness pf the Emergency Food Store, reporting any issues to the Head Chef
  • Oversee the vending operation across the site and ensure the machines are refilled at least once per day

 

 

The Appointed Candidate will have:

  • Good general level of education
  • Experience of working in a school environment (Desirable)
  • Experience of working with children (Desirable)
  • Ability to carry out instructions safely and carefully
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff/pupils
  • Ability to work with initiative and without direct supervision with required
  • Knowledge of COSHH requirements (Desirable)
  • Some knowledge of basic food safety as it relates to the role (Desirable)
