We will then move on to look at performance enhancing drugs and how these are currently used. \nTraining topics will include: \n\nThe role of positive/negative role models and how they influence perspectives\nChanges in perspective and norms due to social media and entertainment\nPerformance enhancing drugs – categories\, legality\, availability\, outcomes and side effects\n\nLearning outcomes: \n\nFinding evidence-based solutions to issues around promoting communication and vulnerability\, positive masculinity\, self-esteem and general wellbeing\nAn understanding of the symptoms and characteristics of body dysmorphia vs a healthy and sustainable approach to fitness\nRealistic guidelines on training\, nutrition\, supplements and recovery\n\nBOOK NOW \n\nSpeaker: \nIain Mahony \nSince 2018\, I have researched\, designed and delivered talks on addiction\, body image and masculinity to pupils\, parents and staff at more than 100 leading UK independent schools. My approach is to educate and inform without lecturing\, creating open\, honest and non-judgemental conversations around the challenges young people face. My sessions explore the pressures and expectations that can influence mental health\, self-esteem\, relationships and decision-making\, while encouraging greater self-awareness\, resilience and empathy. \nHaving attended Uppingham School myself\, I understand that an independent school education brings significant opportunities and advantages\, but can also come with its own pressures and expectations. I aim to help audiences navigate these complexities with greater confidence\, make informed choices and feel better equipped to look after their own wellbeing and support those around them.
