In 2019 the family moved to Malaysia where Rebecca took over a senior girls boarding house at Marlborough College just as the pandemic struck! She continues in her role as Housemistress and since August 2023 has been Head of Boarding.  \n\n\n \nRebecca represented Cambridge at lacrosse and hockey\, and has coached school hockey\, netball and athletics as well as running a variety of activities including a dissection club and teaching biology. She has completed several marathons\, climbed Kilimanjaro and loves travelling\, with a particular passion for Africa. Her journey in Boarding then began with a move to Kingham Hill School\, Oxfordshire where Tracey took a position as Houseparent in a Senior Girls boarding house. Tracey’s next move took her to Bromsgrove School UK as a Senior Houseparent before moving to her current role as Head of Boarding at Bromsgrove International School Thailand. She is very passionate about boarding and pastoral care and enjoys engaging with children both inside and outside of the classroom environment. Tracey has been privileged to care for children from all over the globe and gained valuable experience in different contexts and cultures. All three boarding schools have had very different cohorts of students providing different challenges to overcome. Married with four grown up children and one grandchild\, in her spare time Tracey enjoys travelling around Asia\, experiencing the breathtaking scenery and outstanding hospitality on offer. She am also an avid scuba diver and love the ocean. \n\nSu Hayter\, Global Development Manager\, IDP \nSu has worked in international education for over 20 years\, having lived and worked in Europe and Asia.  She has been involved in student placement for both university and boarding schools\, therefore has a deep understanding of what international families require for their child’s schooling choices\, and beyond.  \nSu works for IDP as Global Development Manager for Boarding Schools.  With nearly 200 student placement offices from 35 source countries\, recruiting for 6 destination countries\, IDP’s focus is  primarily on Higher Education with specialised boarding counsellors in a growing number of markets.  Su is able to access on the ground feedback from many different markets in our ever-changing world where it is essential to keep ahead of individual market changes and the impacts they may have on families. \nAs a mother\, she understands the complex decisions parents face\, in particular the cultural\, financial and academic challenges involved in finding a school where their child will be happy and thrive.

Before taking up his post at the BSA\, David was Deputy Head Pastoral at a large co-ed independent school in the South-East. \n  \n\nDavid Woodgate\, CEO\, ISBA \nDavid Woodgate was appointed Chief Executive of the Independent Schools Bursars’ Association in May 2016.  Prior to this he was Chief Executive of the Institute of Financial Accountants from 2007 to 2015 after which he spent a year as the Strategy Consultant to the Institute of Public Accountants in Australia. \nDavid qualified as a Barrister in 1982 following a first degree in Languages (French and Russian)\, Law and Linguistics.  He moved from the law into the City\, holding several senior management and executive positions in the National Westminster Bank and the Royal Bank of Scotland – in Strategic Planning\, Corporate Finance and latterly as Director of e-Commerce for the corporate bank. He ran an outsourcing business and a specialist internal consultancy providing market intelligence and competitor analysis. \nHe completed an MBA at Warwick University Business School in 1992 with distinction.  A former Chief Executive of the Institute of Administrative Management\, he also holds a postgraduate diploma in Charity Management from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and South Bank University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts\, a Chartered Banker\, a Freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Wheelwrights. David is also a former Chairman of Governors of an HMC Independent school and is currently a Governor of the City of London School. \n\nAileen Kane\, Deputy CEO & COO\, BSA \nAileen is Deputy CEO & COO of BSA Group. She leads operations at BSA Group and works closely with members to provide guidance and training. Aileen also works with government departments\, local authorities and other agencies to support members and heads up the group’s work to find places for refugee children escaping from conflict countries. \n  \n  \n\nCarolyn Reed\, Reed Brand Communication \nCarolyn has a design and marketing background in FMCG and retail/service brands. After the birth of her first son she stumbled into community school nursing and never looked back. She completed training such as the CAMHS foundation module\, Sexual Health and Contraception module and was trained in Safeguarding Children Level 3. She completed her PG Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing in 2016 when she was pregnant with her second son\, which she later topped up to a full MSc in 2023 when she was pregnant with her daughter! This also included qualifying as a Nurse Prescriber. Skyler co-lead the development of a 0-19 Duty Desk and the introduction of the Chathealth text service in Cambridgeshire Community Services. In 2019 she became a Team Manager for the CCS Healthy Child Programme – managing a team of Nursery Nurses\, Health Visitors and School Nurses during the pandemic. In 2020 she was recruited to be the Lead Nurse at The Leys in Cambridge\, to lead a team covering 24 hour care for around 575 pupils (over half of which are boarders). This is where she is now and where her passion for independent school nursing started.

Commissioned regularly since 2000 to deliver training and consultancy to police forces across the UK and consult on LGBT+ matters for schools by the Crown Prosecution Service\, Jonathan has also been commissioned multiple times by the Department for Education to generate guidance and create training for schools nationally. His training and consultancy work has been commissioned by the USA\, Finland\, Sweden and across the UK whilst his books on challenging homophobic and biphobic bullying have sold throughout the world. Jonathan was awarded a MBE in the King’s New Year’s Honours 2025 for his services to Education\, the Criminal Justice System\, Health and HM Government.

The work has taken her into some of the most socially deprived areas of London and New York where she has facilitated peaceful solutions for everything from hostile parents and teenagers\, pupils excluded from school and separated parents at loggerheads to neighbours at war\, street gang rivalries\, and threats to life\, business deals gone wrong\, boardroom disputes and workplace conflicts.Maria believes that the best way forward is to share the skills and empower people to resolve conflict without reliance on experts. So she trains violent prisoners to be DRM Facilitators\, challenging teenagers to be peer mediators and troubled neighbours to be tenant listeners.\nThe DRM empowers participants to be heard in ways which are more likely to be valued. The DRM has applications in families\, schools\, healthcare\, prisons\, workplaces\, neighbourhoods and organisations. It is used for resolving conflict\, repairing harm\, decision making and healing at an individual and group level. It challenges people to live in harmony with their values.\nThe Dialogue Road Map also works at when applied to leadership and governance. Using the DRM for collaborative decision making\, problem solving and conflict resolution transforms communities into a ground up\, peer led system of organization which shares power in order to reduce pressure on leaders\, and increase responsibility taking by all members of the community.\nMaria has authored two books\, The Heart of Mindful Relationships and Mindfulness at Work and\, in 2020 she received an MBE for Services to Mediation.
