This webinar explores the complexities of school transition\, offering insights to the psychological processes involved\, the challenges that may arise\, and practical guidance on how to support students in each phase of their transition to senior school. Early transition experiences are known to bear influence well beyond childhood\, setting the tone for future experiences of life transitions\, academic and professional success\, as well as shaping self-esteem and identity.  Recognising that everyone has a unique set of experiences\, personality factors and perspectives\, we explore strategies that can contribute to building resilience\, a strong sense of belonging and authenticity\, all of which bolster and protect wellbeing while facilitating school transition. \nTraining topics will include: \n\nThe process of change – phases of transition\nPsychological factors in transition and impacts on wellbeing\nHow school transition differs from other changes children experience in their lives\, including developmental considerations\nTransitioning to the boarding environment – additional considerations\nCommon issues arising from school transitions and recognising signs of them\nStrategies to support successful transition\, including ideas for prep departure and senior induction programmes\n\nLearning outcomes: \n\nHave an understanding of the psychological processes and impacts of school transition\nBe able to recognise when a student might be struggling with their school transition\nBe equipped with strategies to support children as they transition from prep to senior school\n\nBOOK NOW \n\nSpeaker: Kitty Jack-Thomas\, Wellbeing & Development Coach\, Pegasus Coaching. \nKitty is a Wellbeing & Development Coach and Senior Assistant Psychologist who specialises in supporting individuals\, families\, and education professionals to flourish in complex and changing environments. \nWith a MSc in Psychology of Mental Health and Wellbeing and extensive experience of working with both young people and adults\, she applies neuro-inclusive and psychology-informed approaches to her coaching practice\, helping clients build resilience and psychological flexibility for lasting wellbeing. \nPrior to moving into Coaching Psychology\, Kitty taught Geography at Dulwich College and Wellington College before relocating to Hong Kong and Japan where she continued teaching part-time while raising a young family. Her experience includes roles as a Head of Department\, Tutor\, and Assistant Boarding Houseparent. \nKitty is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS)\, International Society of Coaching Psychology (ISCP)\,  Association for Coaching (AC)\, and a Fellow of the Coaching Psychology Network in the UK.
