DESCRIPTION:🏷️ From £90\n🎧 All who have responsibility and oversight responsibility of safer recruitment and regulatory compliance including safeguarding professionals and leaders\, trustees\, board members and governors\, bursars\, HR professionals\n📍 Online\n🎥 Watch live or on catch up \n\nCourse outline: \nIs your Single Central Record (SCR) fully compliant? \nAll schools and colleges are required to maintain a SCR in accordance with statutory guidance and relevant legislation. However\, common issues such as inaccuracies and missing information continue to pose compliance risks\, often leading to poor inspection outcomes and negative safeguarding judgements. \nThis webinar is designed to support staff with operational or oversight responsibility for the SCR. It will provide practical advice and clarity on how to meet latest compliance requirements and maintain a robust and accurate record. \nTraining topics will include how long to retain relevant evidence\, procedures for maintenance and auditing\, and actions to take when a staff member or volunteer is found unsuitable. \nTraining topics will include: \n\nThe legal framework and Duty of Care – this session will explore current boarding practice with particular focus on safeguarding and the legal and inspection requirements of pastoral care in our schools\nMeeting the needs of the boarders – practical case studies will be used to explore the issues that arise every day in boarding\, and suggest ways in which these issues can be dealt with effectively and with confidence by those in a Graduate or GAP assistant position\nUnderstanding your role in boarding – in this session the group will discuss and explore the expectations of the school\, the boarding house\, parents\, along with your own expectations with regards your boarding role in the school\nWorking safely and looking after yourself – some hints and tips on keeping yourself healthy\, safe and enjoying your role in boarding!\n\nLearning outcomes: \n\nGain an understanding of key legislation and statutory guidance related to the SCR\nLearn how to develop a comprehensive checklist for compliance audits\nUnderstand best-practice procedures for maintaining and checking the SCR\nKnow what to review and record when a staff member’s or volunteer’s suitability changes\n\nBOOK NOW \n\nSpeaker: \nDr Mariya Ali\, Director\, SACPA \nMariya Ali is Director of SACPA and an internationally recognised safeguarding and child protection expert. With over two decades’ multidisciplinary experience in legal\, academic\, advisory\, and leadership roles\, she is strongly committed to advancing child rights and welfare. Formerly Deputy Minister in the Maldives\, she led national reforms in child protection policy and legislation. Internationally\, she has worked with UNICEF\, Save the Children\, and Lumos Foundation on child sexual abuse\, exploitation\, and systems reform across South Asia and beyond.
