SUMMARY:Bystanders and upstanders (anti-bullying)
DESCRIPTION:Date: March 31\, 2025\nTime: 10:00 – 11:00\nCost: BSA Member Rate: £90\, BSA Additional Full Member Fee: £45\, Non-member Rate: £180*\nAudience: Deputy Head\, Inclusion Lead\, Head of Boarding\, Teaching and Boarding staff\nPlatform: Zoom (online) – webinar\n\n\nCourse outline: \nEvery child\, and probably every adult\, has been a bystander at some point in time. A bystander is someone who witnesses bullying but does not get involved. Upstanders are people who comes to the aid of another person who is being bullied and shows them kindness. \nMoving from being a bystander to becoming an upstander will not happen overnight. This webinar will give you the tools needed to support your staff and pupils on their journey to becoming an upstander. \nTraining topics will include: \n\nLearning outcomes: Characteristics of a bystander\nWhat it means to be an upstander\nHow to engage next time someone witnesses bullying and being their upstander.\n\nBOOK NOW \n\nSpeaker: \nJonathan Charlesworth M.Ed.\, Director\, Educational Action Challenging Homophobia (EACH) \nJonathan Charlesworth is a trainer\, consultant and author with extensive knowledge and understanding of LGBT+ matters (including Helpline management) acquired across his forty years’ professional experience as a teacher and Director of Educational Action Challenging Homophobia.
