Participants will develop a deeper understanding of the cultural\, social\, and emotional influences that shape young men’s self-image\, and consider how to create inclusive environments that support emotional intelligence\, communication\, respect\, and empathy. \nLearning outcomes: \n\nRecognising and challenging harmful stereotypes and limiting beliefs\nCreating a framework for positive male role modelling in school life.\n\nBOOK NOW \n\nSpeaker: \nTim Jarvis\, Senior Master: Pastoral Care at Michaelhouse \nTim Jarvis is currently the Senior Master: Pastoral Care at Michaelhouse\, a South African boarding school for senior boys in KwaZulu-Natal. He holds Honours degrees in Education and Psychology from the University of Exeter and the University of South Africa respectively. Tim was the conference lead at researchED Pretoria\, the inaugural researchED conference in South Africa\, and then programme manager for the follow up event in Cape Town. Tim has also served on the Global Advisory Board of the University of St Andrews\, Scotland. \nTim enjoys writing and is the author of the blog\, ‘There’s a ‘Hadeda in my Garden’\, which considers educational issues\, boarding school life\, and teen well-being. He has written articles for Independent Education in South Africa and the Guardian Teachers network in the UK. He also featured on IBSC’s Exploring Boys’ Education Podcast on the pastoral care of boys.
