This seminar will support delegates in gaining a better understanding of medicines in schools and the legalities behind the correct management of these.  \nIn order to best safeguard pupils and their health\, it is important that boarding staff understand the guidance behind managing medicines in schools along with the different types of medicines and how they should be stored\, documented and managed within the school setting safely. This is important to reduce the risk of poor management of medical conditions.  \nTraining topics will include: \n\nMedication classifications – understanding the different medicines and medication that may be in school \nLegal issues – understanding the guidance and legal issues behind medicines management in school \nStorage of medicines – a closer look at how medicines should be stored in the Medical Centre and Boarding House \nOverseas medication – a look at medicines from abroad\, trips and documents \n\nLearning outcomes: \n\nTo understand the law and legislation behind medicines management \nTo understand the types of medications \nTo feel confident in medications management and administration \n\nBOOK NOW \n\nSpeaker: \nLouise Howel\, Head of Hieda \nLouise Howel is a paediatric nurse with experience in children’s A & E\, plastics and respiratory care. Health visitor for ten years.  Nine years experience in independent school nursing working in a mix of boarding and day school settings. Six years experience as Health centre manager most recently at Wycliffe College.
