DESCRIPTION:🏷️ From £175\n🎧 All boarding staff\n📍 Online \n\nCourse outline: \nThis half seminar will take delegates through the latest statutory guidance now in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025 around sexual violence and harassment in schools\, considering in particular the boarding environment. `Everyone’s Invited` and other disclosures highlighted the prevalence of sexual violence and harassment\, both adult-on-child and child-on-child\, in education settings.  The subsequent Ofsted review demonstrated the importance of work around this area.  \nThe boarding environment can provide additional areas of vulnerability. This seminar will support delegates in considering best practice in this area and their work in their settings and communities.  \nTraining topics will include: \n\nFinding and understanding the latest guidance \nEmbedding a proactive culture in your setting \nHearing pupil and survivor voices and managing allegations. \n\nLearning outcomes: \n\nDelegates will leave with a clearer understanding of the application of sexual violence and harassment guidance \nDelegates will understand the specific focus required in boarding \nIncreased confidence in managing allegations and supporting survivors and pupils. \n\nBOOK NOW

It looks at the variety of roles within a boarding school and boarding house\, from Director of Boarding to house support staff\, and how this works in different types of boarding schools. It will then consider the practical and legal requirements of staff/student ratios and the importance of creating clear rotas to ensure appropriate staff cover for boarding at all times. \nTraining topics will include: \n\nBoarding roles and job descriptions\nStaff planning and regulations\nStaff cover and house supervision.\n\nLearning outcomes: \n\nA clear understanding of different roles and functions in boarding\, legal requirements for staff/boarder ratios and how to organise staff rotas.\nHow to evaluate good practice in pupil management and supervision\nEmbedding relevant key principles within the duty team\n\nBOOK NOW \n\nAndrew Lewin\, BSA Senior Consultant \nAndrew Lewin was International Director at the BSA before moving into a consultant role. His broad remit offers a range of services to boarding schools worldwide. He has considerable experience working with boarding school staff all around the world\, as he has lived and worked in boarding schools for much of his life. \nAndrew has set up his own company in 2020\, Project 1000 Ltd\, that focuses on educational consultancy and resilience coaching. He is a WRAW Master Practitioner\, trained by the Wellbeing Project\, and offers coaching\, diagnostic assessments\, workshops and seminars. He is currently working as a Director of Development in an independent school and is also Education Development Director for Performance Learning and an IAPS Consultant. Away from the world of education\, he is a director of WASP\, S&SWGC and TEAM Removals.
