A group of selfless staff and pupils at Rydal Penrhos will take part in a special fundraising initiative later this month.
Volunteers from the school will be participating in the annual bag packing fundraising drive at Morrisons, Colwyn Bay on Saturday, January 26 in aid of national maritime charity, the RNLI.
Staff and pupils will spend the day helping customers pack their groceries in exchange for a donation, and the event will run from 9am to 3pm.
Thanks to the hard work of both pupils and staff, a total of £820.28 was raised last year as Philippa Thomas, Luisa Berto, Christian Cheesley, Damisola Animashaun, Theo Bryant, Maksym Hrymych, Nils Memmi-Bonstrom, Aydan Garrod, Will Crumb, Jonas Lucas-Nuelle, Jule Mayer, Malina Keil, Mayowale Adekeye, Prompt Utenpattanun, Marc Mueller, Alex Sorokin, Augustas Skierus, Bohdan Diedov and Alexia Radu gave up their time to take part in the charity Bag Packing.
This is one of many fundraising initiatives for the RNLI that Rydal Penrhos put on throughout the academic year, with the annual Christmas Concert raising £357.05 for the lifeboats after a huge turnout at St John’s Church over the festive period.
Director of Studies Sally Harding, said: “We are extremely proud of our association with the RNLI that has spanned decades, and hopefully this year’s fundraising bag packing day will be equally as successful.
“This is a stressful time for many of our pupils due to mock examinations, so they all deserve an enormous amount of credit for giving up their time to assist with another fantastic way to assist within the community.”
