A former Rydal Penrhos pupil has released a fantastic new single as part of his ongoing involvement with chart-topping band Catfish and the Bottlemen.
Rob Hall, who left the school in 2011, is a drummer with the group, who have enjoyed a phenomenal amount of success during what has been a very promising career from the band to date.
The Llandudno four-piece released their long awaited first single “Longshot” on Tuesday, January 8, which is their first new material in three years and follows on from their second album ‘The Ride’ that reached the top of the UK Album Charts.
It promises to be another hugely busy few months for the indie rockers as they continue to grow their massive fanbase across the world.
The track has also received an official video: directed by long-term collaborator Jim Canty and filmed on a cliff-top in South Shields, the clip presents a bird’s-eye-view of frontman Van McCann arriving in style to join the rest of the band in performing the new song.
This latest track is set to propel the BRIT award winners to new heights, and is the latest in a long line of notable landmarks for the former pupil as part of the group.
Director of Music Pete Williams, said: This is a superb song for Catfish and the Bottlemen to return with, and it should become an instant anthem with their loyal supporters.
“The success of former pupils like Rob is a massive inspiration to current members of the Rydal Penrhos community, and we are thrilled with the success he is having both nationwide and throughout the world.”
