A Preparatory School year group received a special royal message thanks to their work on a recent project.
The Year 4 group at Rydal Penrhos were tasked with producing some paintings and drawings to make the Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which brought the country to a standstill earlier this year.
During the task, each pupil drew their own depiction of the newlyweds prior to their special day, before teacher Julie Woodthorpe sent them down to Buckingham Palace for the pair to see for themselves.
In recognition of their impressive work, Harry and Meghan took the time to write a special letter of thanks to the year group and provided them with a commemorative picture of the couple on their special day.
This has now taken pride of place outside Miss Woodthorpe’s classroom and they showed it to the entire Rydal Penrhos Prep School contingent at their weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, September 21.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex captivated the nation with an emotional ceremony, exchanging vows in front of 600 guests including the Queen, more than 30 royals and famous faces such as Oprah Winfrey, tennis champion Serena Williams, actor George Clooney and his barrister wife Amal Clooney, Sir Elton John, David and Victoria Beckham and actor Idris Elba.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “The Royal Wedding really captured the imagination of not only the whole nation, but also our enthusiastic pupils here at Rydal Penrhos, and they were all hugely excited to see the letter and picture from the iconic couple.”
