King’s College pupil and music scholar Louis Benneyworth has ended the year on a high note after gaining a place as an oboist in the prestigious National Children’s Orchestra (NCO).
After a rigorous audition process, the talented musician was delighted to receive an offer to join the Main Orchestra in 2018.
The NCO is one of the leading training grounds for future musicians, providing an excellent foundation in orchestral performance and musicianship for musically talented children aged 7 to 13.
Louis will join the NCO at a very exciting time, with the orchestra celebrating its 40th anniversary in the new year.
As a member, he will perform at major venues across the UK and will receive top-class guidance from professional musicians.
Richard Biggs, Headmaster at King’s College, said: “Louis is a key member of our vibrant music scene at King’s. He is a very fine oboe player and an accomplished composer. I am delighted that the NCO has recognised his talents and has offered him a place; this is a prestigious orchestra and we are very proud of him”.
