Fallen War heroes and veterans were honoured at a Remembrance Day Service in Colwyn Bay.
Staff, pupils and those associated with Rydal Penrhos played a significant part in the event, which took place on Sunday, November 12 at Queen’s Gardens.
A large crowd gathered near the war memorial to pay respects to those who had fought and died during battle.
Head Boy Alex Benfield and Head Girl Olivia Williams laid a wreath on behalf of the school, while former pupil and Royal Marine Tom Harding was also on hand to lay a wreath.
Year 11 pupil Zhara Shamsi performed a vocal solo at the service, while Eddie Farrell’s poignant playing of the last post was another school contribution, which also the Rydal Penrhos Community Choir in attendance.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “It was a very moving and poignant service and it was lovely to see the school so well represented.
“It was also nice to see so many staff members there as part of different organisations, highlighting the good work that they are doing in the community.”
The event followed on from Rydal Penrhos’ Armistice Day service on Friday, November 10, where wooden crosses were placed in the Memorial Quad to mark the 106 members of the school community that lost their lives in battle.
Rydal Penrhos also held a Remembrance Concert in aid of the Royal British Legion on Saturday.
