Pupils who sat this year’s GCSE exams from Gresham’s School in Holt, North Norfolk announced another great set of results, seeing an increase in the number
of students attaining the top grades at A* to B to 76.8%.
With reports in the news that the proportion of GCSE exam entries awarded top grades has dropped, for the second year in a row, the School is delighted
with this rise in results and highlights the hard work and commitment of our pupils and dedicated teaching from our academic staff.
Some of the pupils who achieved outstanding results and who all come from Norfolk included:
Grace Pitkethly and Esme Haywood who both achieved 11A* and an A in AO Mathematics.
Esme said “I am delighted with my results and I would like to thank my teachers for all their commitment and brilliant teaching which has helped me achieve
these grades”. Esme plans to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme next year.
Tom Dowd – 9A*, 1A, 1BHugo Woodhouse – 9A*, 1AGeorge Bartram gained 9A*, 1B and an A in AO MathematicsHarriet Shaw – 8A*, 2As
Hannah Schmidt-Wolf, a boarder from Germany, achieved 10A* and 1B and will go on to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme next year. She
says her current plans when she leaves school are to study Economics at an American university. She said she was delighted that all the hard work had paid
This year for the first time, three sets of twins from Norfolk sat their GCSEs at the School and achieved excellent results; Noah and Zachary Horne-Morris,
Harry and Freddie Gayfer and Christopher and Hugo Woodhouse (mentioned above).
The Headmaster, Mr Philip John, stated that he was very pleased with this year's GCSE results. An increase in the number of students attaining the top
grades at A* to B to 76.8% was particularly encouraging. Mr John went on to say that the results were a credit to all the pupils who had clearly worked
A in AO Mathematics is the top grade that can be achieved in this subject
