GCSE Results 2013
22nd August 2013

Mrs Samantha Price, Head at Godolphin School, Salisbury, is delighted with the girls’ GCSE results, particularly when competition for the highest grades is greater than ever this year. “This is a talented year group with almost 75% of all exams sat awarded A* - A grades; a substantial increase on last year’s 65%, which is still a very respectable achievement. The girls have worked extremely hard throughout their GCSE courses whilst taking advantage of all the school has to offer in the many co-curricular opportunities available. I am extremely proud of them and thank our dedicated staff for the high calibre of teaching and dedicated support they give to every girl.”

74 students

713 subject entries

A* - 41.23% (32.78% - 2012)

A*- A 74.89% (65.38% - 2012)

A* - B 91.30%

A* - C 98.74%

31.08% of the year group achieved all A* and A grades with the following notable successes:

Sarah Roller - 11 x A*

Matilda Smith Cornwall – 11 x A*

Miranda Mackay – who is a year young for her class – 10 x A*

In contrast to the perception that girls don’t excel in Maths and Science, three girls achieved an A** for Further Maths, which is the highest grade available. The girls were Christy Lai, Suzanna Healey and Nicole Chan.

On average the girls achieved over one grade higher than their baseline GCSE predictions when they entered the school at 11+, which reflects the added value that we achieve over the years the girls are with us.

British Eventing hopeful and member of the South West Eventing team, Victoria Leabeater achieved 6 x A* and 5 x A, which is an outstanding achievement when coupled with her equestrian commitments. Victoria is also the school’s equestrian captain.

Sarah Roller (11 x A*) is a member of the jazz band, an accomplished saxophonist and bassoonist, and a member of various choral groups. Miranda Mackay, who is a year young for her class, is a member of the award winning Vocal Ensemble and participates in many different clubs and societies at school.
