Boarders Rush to Raise £24,000 for Cancer Charity
15th May 2017

A group of boarders at New Hall School, Chelmsford, completed the ‘Nuclear Rush’ race in Brentwood at the weekend in order to raise money for a worthy cause close to their hearts, Bowel Cancer UK.

The Sixth Form girls, Jemima Lynn, Constance Day, Phoebe Wickham, Coco Kok and Tara Durkan, as well as their Housemistress Jennifer Murray-Turner and Senior Lifeguard Ian Brewster were extremely dedicated in their training for the muddy obstacle race, practising challenges such as wall climbing and push-ups in muddy puddles! The group greatly enjoyed the challenge of the race on Sunday, with all completing the tough course in good time and, most importantly, they have raised a hugely significant amount for the charity, with the total online currently standing at over £24,000.00.

Alongside its successful academic programme, New Hall School encourages students in charitable work and giving, holding a number of fundraising events throughout the year in support of a range of charities. New Hall has excellent music and performing arts provision and fantastic sports facilities and training programmes. The boarding and day school for students aged 3-18 has a Catholic foundation and ethos, which welcomes those of all backgrounds. The strong pastoral care structure at the school supports students in their endeavours, allowing them to achieve success in a wide variety of fields.
