Felsted Girls to Return to Lord’s
8th May 2017

Felsted School’s U15 Girls’ Cricket Team are through to the National Final of the Lady Taverners Indoor Cricket Cup after winning all five of their games in the regional round.

The girls beat Dr Calloners, Hayes, Godolphin and Latymer and Warden Park Schools, before securing their victory against Godolphin and Latymer again in a tense final game.

The team will now return to Lord’s Cricket Ground for a second year in a row to play at the National Finals, where they hope to improve on last year’s National Third place.

Felsted Girls’ Cricket Coach and Super League player, Carla Rudd, commented; “Every girl contributed throughout the day; the team spirit and skill level was top quality and their win was well deserved.”

Ten Felsted girls are currently on the Essex Players Programme, with opportunities to play in county matches. This includes Alex Went (Yr 12), who has recently been selected for the Essex Women’s 1st XI squad.

Felsted is currently nominated as an Inspirational School for girls’ cricket by Essex CCC and became a MCCF (Marylebone Cricket Club Foundation) hub for girls’ cricket in November 2015.
