Felsted School’s 1st XV Rugby Team are through to the National semi-final of the U18 NatWest Schools Cup after their away match victory in the quarter-finals.
Felsted beat Manchester Grammar School 21-16 after a tough and nail-biting match with everything to play for until the final seconds. Early in the first half, Felsted were 11-0 down when an excellent try and conversion almost levelled the score, leaving the opposing team on the back foot but determined to claw it back. At half-time Felsted had taken the lead and despite numerous penalties managed to hold on to this to the end, close to doubling their score in the second half.
Felsted are now through to the National semi-finals to be played on 4th March at Allianz Park.
Director of Rugby, Mr Andrew Le Chevalier commented; “The boys should be very proud of their achievement, they showed maturity, passion, trust and belief in their abilities and to see the excitement on their faces was priceless.”
