A trio of Preparatory School skiers have been praised for their efforts in helping achieve national honours.
Rydal Penrhos’ young stars took home the title of National Primary School Champions from the Welsh Schools’ Championships at Llangranog last month.
A large number of individual and team successes were the catalyst behind the victory, which included a victory in the U8 boys’ category from young sensation Xavier Poynton.
Despite only recently turning six, the gifted young talent continues to defy his age, and has already chalked up a number of regional and national successes in what has been an extremely promising career to date.
Biv Gilmartin added to his list of accolades with the U10 boys’ prize, which rounded off an exceptional year on the slopes for the Llandudno Football Club academy star.
He also managed to claim third overall despite his relatively young age, with fellow Rydal Penrhos pupil Telor Jones narrowly missing out on top spot in second.
Prep School Head Roger McDuff, said: “Biv and Xavier continue to make great strides with their skiing, and they were a huge part of our national championship success.
“Our skiing programme offers our pupils’ something very unique, and it is something they have really embraced, which is reflected in the enormous amount of accolades we have achieved over the years.
“With talented such as Biv, Telor and Xavier I am confident that this is a trend that can continue long into the future.”
