A pair of sailing stars at Rydal Penrhos tested their skills against some of the best young competitors in the world at a recent event.
Ewan Luke and Zac Blomeley, who have both recently completed Year 10 at the school, competed at the prestigious RS Feva World Sailing Championships, which were held in Santander, Spain last week.
The championships represent the pinnacle of RS Feva sailing, with 166 boats travelling from across the world to compete.
The pair are both Welsh internationals and were accompanied to the five-day showcase by Rydal Penrhos coach Max Todd, who has been involved in their significant preparation spanning several months in the lead up to the event, including three days of one-to-one sessions in Colwyn Bay prior to their trip.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “This is a tremendous honour for Zac and Ewan to have been selected to compete at a world level event, which is a testament to have hard they have worked throughout the course of the year.
“We have a fantastic sailing programme here at Rydal Penrhos, with a number of our pupils achieving both national and international success throughout the years.
“This is the latest in a series of accolades for the pair, and the experience of competing against some of the best sailors anywhere in the world is sure to propel them on to bigger and better things in the future.”
